WELCOME
The Music Department at U-Prep is proud to provide a variety of learning opportunities for young musicians. To that end, we offer multiple courses of Band, Choir, and Strings. In addition, we also offer individual courses in guitar, percussion, and sound production.
Our goal is to provide student musicians a broad-based music environment with a focus on individual development within the ensemble setting. In short, we work towards teaching every student at every level.
The U-Prep Music Department is located in rooms 127 and 128 of the Shasta Learning Center (2200 Eureka Way, Redding, CA). With a few exceptions, most performances will take place on campus at the David Marr Auditorium. Please refer to the "EVENTS" page for more information on those opportunities. We'd love for you to join us!
Mr. Fowers has been teaching music at U-Prep since 2004 where he has continued to expand both instrumental and choral components of the music department. He holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education from Brigham Young University and Boston University, and looks to continue his educational and musical growth in the future.

Mrs. Johnson is U-Prep's Strings and Drum Corps teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Fresno State University and her Single Subject Music Credential from National University. Prior to her current position, Mrs. Johnson taught with Redding School District's string program for seven years before coming to U-Prep in 2006 to start their strings program. Her extensive musical background includes classical violin, fiddle band, marching band and choir.
